We aren't blocking traffic; we are traffic! Freitag, 25. November 2005, 04:01:51

I never heard of this before:

Critical Mass is an event held typically on the last Friday of every month in cities around the world, where bicyclists, skateboarders, roller bladers, roller skaters and other self-propelled people take to the streets en masse. Critical Mass has no leaders, and no goals other than to meet once every month and enjoy the security and companionship of riding, rolling and travelling through the city together. The one worldwide slogan, chanted by riders in probably all cities where the ride take place is: "We aren't blocking traffic; we are traffic."

And now the mad bike courier habi is telling us there will be such an event in Berne:

someone is organizing a critical mass in bern at the 6th of december. if you'd like to take part, come and show up on the bundesplatz at 18:00. i'll be there, and hopefully a lot of others too

Sounds fun! But I'll have to pass. Tuesday is when I'm at home, doing houseman chores. Can't very well leave the kids to fend for themselves while I take to the streets in an act of wanton biker anarchy! Ah, to be young and irresponsible again...
