True or not, that's what Tom Russel claimed on his 2001 Borderland CD, which I bought a couple years ago when he was giving a concert together with Andrew Hardin in the Mahogany Hall in Berne. And even though I haven't been to Juarez, ever, I don't doubt he was right.
The CD is depressing if you play it too often; it's the kind of sentimental macho tex-mex country stuff that does this to you. But the live concert was really great. Too bad he nevery played in Switzerland again.
